From exclusive haunts fit for royals to casual locations where you can chow down while you quaff, London offers a Champagne bar for every occasion. Sip on the finest French Champagne before an evening of opera; enjoy sky high views of the capital over bubbles with friends; or sink into an armchair in one of our central London hotels and unwind with a Champagne cocktail, or three. Take a look at our list of London’s best Champagne bars next time you visit.

The Milestone

Sabrage at The Milestone is an experience you’ll never forget © Red Carnation Hotels

In our opinion, Champagne should be quaffed at any and all hours of the day, and it seems the great minds at The Milestone would agree. Start the day with one of their incredible Breakfast cocktails (and a delicious helping of marmalade toast on the side), and, for something extra special, end the day learning how to open your own bottle of Champagne with a sabre. Now that’s what we call a life skill.

Dressed to the nines in 1920s splendour, Kettner’s Bar takes the business of Champagne seriously. Undoubtedly one of London’s best Champagne bars, Laurent-Perrier might be the house specialty here, but the Champagne list also includes over 100 different varieties of our favourite French bubbles.

Paul Hamlyn Hall Champagne Bar

Enjoy a chilled glass of Champagne in the atmospheric surrounds of the Paul Hamlyn Hall at the Royal Opera House. You need a ticket to indulge here, but who wouldn’t fancy a night of opera or ballet at this world famous venue? A one-off collaboration with Ruinart Champagne, you can expect to find some superb vintages on offer here.

Champagne + Fromage

Champagne and charcuterie? Yes please! Champagne + Fromage can also be found in Greenwich and Brixton © Champagne + Fromage

As you might have guessed, cheese and bubbles is the name of the game at this central London deli bar. The ideal, laid-back environment to retreat to after a day out and about in the capital, Champagne + Fromage serves a selection of bubbles from independent producers as well as charcuterie items, cheese boards and a delightfully indulgent blue cheese and chocolate fondant – trust us, it works.

The Texture Champagne Bar

The restaurant’s well-deserved Michelin star isn’t the only thing that sparkles in Texture’s already impressive firmament. Enter: the bright and beautiful Texture Champagne Bar. Whether you want a glass as an aperitif before dinner, or you’re happy to forgo the food and split a bottle or two with friends (there are 140 bottles to choose from), your wish is Texture’s command.

Champagne is a specialty at 41; there are many, many ways to indulge, and all of them are simply fantastic. From the tantalizing cocktail selection in the fun, indulgent bbar (the classic Champagne Cocktail gets our vote every time) to the bottles of bubbles that temptingly float past you on the Champagne trolley in The Executive Lounge (open only to guests staying at the hotel), you’re sure to be spoilt for choice. You can even arrange to enjoy your Champagne on the roof for incredible views of London and the Royal Mews.

Vertigo 42

Head for heights? Vertigo 42 serves up bubbles with a view in the heart of the City. Found at the top of Tower 42, this is not only one of London’s best Champagne bars, but also one of the highest – offering panoramic views over the capital (which are, incidentally, very romantic at sunset) and a handpicked selection of Champagnes. The Laurent-Perrier Champagne flight in particular is not to be missed.

The Leopard Champagne Bar

For those staying with us at The Rubens at the Palace, our private Champagne bar offers a very welcome retreat after a day of sightseeing. Not only does the Leopard Bar offer a prodigious selection of the finest Champagnes, but they also make a mean Champagne cocktail. Try the Framboise Royale, made with fresh raspberry puree.

Bubbledogs is the place to go for gourmet dogs and delicious bubbles © Paul Winch Furness

Champagne and gourmet hot dogs? What’s not to like about that? Found in elegant Fitzrovia, the chic and stylish Bubbledogs pairs delicious hot dogs with a Champagne list that would bring a tear to the eye of even the most ardent bubble lover, thanks to its global scope and ethical bent.

After an evening spent sampling the best bubbles that London has to offer, continue with your luxurious evening, making your way back to one of our elegant central London hotels for decadent dining and maybe even another glass or two.
