Buckingham Palace Summer Opening

Each summer Buckingham Palace welcomes in visitors to take a stroll through the grand Royal residence. Tours take in the Palace’s ornate State Rooms, and Buckingham Palace gardens, which are especially idyllic during the summer months, with wild flowers blooming amidst the trees and by the three-acre lake. In honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday, the palace will also host the special summer exhibition, ‘Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queen’s Wardrobe’.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

The historic Hampton Court Palace meanwhile is hosting an event that draws attention from far and wide each year, the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Said to be the world’s largest horticultural event, the flower show encompasses magnificent floral displays, talks from gardening experts and family activities.

Held within London’s Olympic Stadium, the Anniversary Games is one of the world’s major athletic events, with an impressive sports programme across the two days. A highlight of the 2016 edition will be the appearance by the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, with the IAAF Diamond League meet and IPC Grand Prix Final taking place, too.

Georgia O’Keeffe at Tate Modern
