WE is a family of organizations making doing good, doable. WE is made up of WE Charity, empowering domestic and international change. A social enterprise that creates socially conscious products and experiences to help directly benefit their local communities and the world, their teams in Asia, Africa, and Latin America have provided more than 1 million people with clean water, built 1,000 schools and schoolrooms overseas, and empowered more than 200,000 children with access to education.
In our hotel, we sell ethically sourced ME to WE chocolate bars which benefit cacao farmers and help WE Village communities – supporting education, health and food programming.
We donate our corks to the UK’s leading natural wine cork recycling programme.
The corks are resold with a percentage going to nominated charities, as well as being donated to good causes and schools to use in craft projects.
We have a partnership with The Passage Charity to set up volunteering opportunities and internships in The Rubens Kitchen. The charity aims to provide support to homeless people to restart their lives with new opportunities. In October 2018 we donated 15 bags of second-hand goods on a clothing drive.
We provide Kidscape with meeting room space for team-building events, brain-storming and executive meetings, meals at Christmas to thank the staff and occasional bedrooms for victims of bullying who come to London for a treat.
Kidscape is a charity based in Victoria and was the first charity in the UK established specifically to prevent bullying and child sexual abuse. They are a small organisation with far-reaching influence, committed to sharing their insights and techniques with other organisations and individuals all over the world.
The mission of Kidscape is to ensure children live in a safe and nurturing environment. By providing training, support and advice to children, parents, schools and those in professional contact with young people, they enable them to gain knowledge and develop the confidence and skills to challenge abuse and bullying in all its forms.
Regular donations of worn linen and towels are donated to the Salvation Army.
We are working closely with The Victoria Business Improvement District (BID) - to support their 'Clean and Green', 'Public Realm', and 'Destination Victoria' initiatives. Employees volunteer with Victoria BID's Street Cleaning Team to litter pick a few times a year. The hotels also contribute to their Christmas Charity Drop.
Green Gin Experiences
"Gin Experience" involves five special gins, which donate part-proceeds to a local Westminster charity that provides support service for those seeking employment.
Springboard- Is a charity that promotes the hospitality and tourism industry in a socially responsible way and is helping young people achieve their potential within the industry.
The tree of hope is another partnership that we support, which is a charity offering healthcare for sick children and support for their families.
We currently use CRU Kafe, an environmentally conscious supplier of coffee capsules in our nespresso machines.
We place a discretionary £1 donation on each guest’s final room bill and then match each donation for this wonderful charity. The Starlight Children’s Foundation creates moments of joy and comfort for seriously and terminally ill hospitalised children and their families.
Red Carnation Hotels is proud to use Belu Water throughout our hotels. Belu is the UK’s most eco-friendly bottled water brand and works closely with the charity WaterAid.
Our Green Team volunteers for the Hospitality Action Stall at the ‘Taste of London’ Summer and Winter Food Festivals. Hospitality Action helps support staff across the industry.
Our Green Team and hotel employees volunteer their time to work in the Tottenham Court Road Soup Kitchen to serve the homeless. The American International Church provides free meals for 70 vulnerable people daily, as well as providing warm clothing and shoes.
At Red Carnation Hotels, if we have any incompatible toners, we donate them to Office Express who recycle and donate the proceeds to charity. Money raised goes towards Bullying UK, Jeans for Genes and Leeds Children's Hospital.
