Summer openings of the Houses of Parliament

Event: Summer openings of the Houses of Parliament
Date: August 2nd to August 27th

Visitors wanting to get a closer look at one of London's landmark buildings will be able to do so this summer, when parliament opens it doors to both domestic residents and overseas tourists

Organised tours will give people the change to visit some key areas of the vast structure - including the House of Commons and House of Lords.

And UK visitors can even ascend the Clock Tower - or Big Ben as it is more commonly known - to get a look inside one of the world's most famous clocks.

Visitors from both the UK and other countries will also be able to see the country's political system in action by attending debates and watching committees.

In addition, history fans will be able to gain access to the Parliamentary Archives, which contains millions of record of events to have taken place in both Houses, along with a raft of other historical items of interest.

After spending a day touring Parliament, guests staying at luxury London hotel 41 will be able to enjoy a three-course Table d'Hote in the Library restaurant if they opt for the Get More From Your Stay package.
