Tate Britain Duveens Commission 2010: Fiona Banner at Tate Britain

Event: Tate Britain Duveens Commission 2010: Fiona Banner
Date: June 28th to January 2011

For the last decade, Tate Britain has invited some of the most thought-provoking artists to open their minds and fill its Duveen galleries with something special and worthy of being housed in such majestic surroundings.

The likes of Mona Hatoum, Anya Gallaccio, Michael Landy and Eva Rothschild have all been selected to take part in the Duveens Commission and the latest invitee is Fiona Banner.

An artist whose work reflects the tension between a private, internal world and the public realm, Banner incorporates sculpture, performance, film and painting in her installations.

Her exhibition at Tate Britain will challenge the aesthetic and physical expectations of the neoclassical Duveen galleries and give plenty of food for thought.

When the day draws to a close, visitors can head to the luxury London hotel the 41 and sit down to a three-course carvery dinner courtesy of the Get More From Your Stay package.

Those who prefer can enjoy a bottle of Laurent Perrier, Champagne afternoon tea, a romantic turndown or a late checkout instead.
