Rude Britannia: British Comic Art at the Tate Britain

Event: British Comic Art
Date: June 9th to September 5th

Comic art has always had a special place in British society.

From Viz magazine to Spitting Image, the Brits have always enjoyed the creative humour displayed in such material.

Whether it is politicians, musicians, sports stars or actors, every facet of contemporary culture has been mocked or parodied in comic art and a new exhibition coming to the Tate Britain will highlight the best examples of this.

Rude Britannia: British Comic Art will make guests staying at the luxury London hotel the 41 laugh and cringe in equal measure.

In addition to print media, there will be examples from TV and cinema, as well as sculptures, installations and performances.

Some of the great purveyors of comic art will be on hand to interpret and discuss the works on show, including Steve Bell, Harry Hill and the team from Viz magazine.

After enjoying an afternoon of comedy, visitors can return to the 41 and enjoy the delights of the Get More From Your Stay package.

The deal includes a full English breakfast and a choice from a bottle of Laurent Perrier, Champagne afternoon tea, a romantic turndown including chocolate-dipped strawberries, a three-course table d'hote dinner and a late checkout until 18:00 GMT.
