Many years ago, a young man turned up on the doorstep of one of Manhattan's richest couples injured and in need of help.
The benevolent couple took the stranger in and offered him a bed for the night.
They became instantly charmed by the young man, Paul, who told them he studied with their children at Harvard.
He also claimed to be the son of Hollywood star Sidney Pottier, which only endeared him more to the couple.
During the night, however, they found out that Paul was not who he claimed to be.
