Footsbarn's Christmas Cracker at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

There are few better cities than London to spend Christmas and New Year in and those celebrating in the capital this year can look forward to a festive feast of carnival, comedy and festive cheer.

For the first time in its illustrious history, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre will be opening its doors over the yuletide period for a special Christmas show which the whole family will love.

Last year, the Footsbarn Theatre Company staged one of the highlights of the capital's cultural calendar with its Shakespeare Party and the same team will return this year with their Christmas Cracker celebrations.

Drawing from festive traditions and inspired by the complete works of Shakespeare, this will be a midwinter celebration of London's rich, pagan past.

Highlights include a three-headed Shakespeare who recites poetry, musical tightrope walkers and the Lord of Misrule, whose sole purpose in life is to make sure that all laws are broken in his own world.

There will be many shows taking place in London this Christmas, but few will offer the same amount of family fun as the Christmas Cracker.

Visitors also have many hotels to choose from in the capital, but none offer quite the same experience as the luxury London hotel the 41.
