Story of London Festival at various locations

Event: Story of London Festival
Date: June 1st until 30th

Cancel all foreign holidays booked in June and head instead to London, which will be home to a month-long cultural extravaganza celebrating its glorious past, present and future.

Mayor Boris Johnson announced recently that it was high time this iconic city was given the respect it deserves with an event which paid tribute to what it has and continues to contribute to the world in terms of culture, art and more.

As a result, the Story of London was born, and it will be celebrated for the first time this year with a series of events, exhibitions and activities.

Various big weekends will take place, including the Story of London Walking Weekend, with organisations across the capital taking people on strolls along 120 different routes.

For history lovers, the Living Weekend will be the crown jewel of the celebration.

A trio of events will take place, including the return of Tudor Knights to Eltham Palace for an authentic jousting tournament, a Victorian country fair in the grounds of Kenwood House and a celebration to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo at Apsley House.

The fun does not stop there, either, as the London Museum, the Transport Museum and Horniman Museum will host special exhibitions highlighting the capital's past.

It will cover every area which London is famous for except one - hotels.

That is where the luxury London hotel the 41 comes in.

Guests who book the Suite Dreams package will experience class and comfort of the highest quality, with a full English breakfast to start each day, a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, a three-course table d'hote dinner and a deluxe turndown service.
