Event: Story of London Walking Weekend
Dates: June 6th to 7th
This June it is time for tourists to get their walking shoes on and embark on one of 120 routes through the capital as part of the Story of London Walking Weekend.
Anyone who wants to see a different side to the city is sure to enjoy the walks, which are scheduled to take place on June 6th and 7th, with the organisers claiming even experts on London will learn something new about the area's history and colourful past and present residents.
The walks will be provided by various groups such as London Walks and the Blue Badge Guides and will provide a pleasant alternative to the tube or bus for those wanting to head to various attractions.
Also during June, there are a number of other Story of London events being held to celebrate the city, including a film weekend at BFI Southbank on June 13th and 14th.
The Living Weekend in association with English Heritage which will see Tudors jousting at Eltham Palace and a Victorian Fair at Hampstead Heath is being held on June 20th and 21st.
Tired walkers looking for a comfortable bed for the night could head to the luxury London hotel 41, where they can enjoy a restful night with the Suite Dreams package.
Guests will be treated to a full breakfast, chocolate-dipped strawberries, a bottle of Veuve Cliquet champagne and a three-course dinner for two in the neighbouring Library restaurant.
