The Winter's Tale at the Old Vic Theatre

Event: The Winter's Tale
Date: May 29th until August 15th

Guests at the luxury London hotel the 41 will have the opportunity to see one of Shakespeare's most experimental plays at the Old Vic from late May.

The Winter's Tale is a story of love, deceit, anger and betrayal which promises an evening of wonderful entertainment.

Leontes, King of Sicilia, and King Polixenes of Bohemia have been friends since they were children.

The former is on a visit to see his old chum and stays with him for nine months.

However, Polixenes longs to return to Bohemia and all of Leontes' pleading fails to change his mind about leaving.

Leontes turns to his wife Hermione to try and convince their guest to remain with them for a while longer.

She is successful and despite getting what he originally wanted, Leontes descends into a world of paranoia and mistrust, wondering how Hermione could have persuaded him so successfully.

Consumed by jealousy, Leontes suspects the pair have had an affair and that the child she is carrying is that of the friend who betrayed him.

He orders Camillo to kill the backstabber but his servant warns Polixenes of the plan and the pair flee.

That is not the end of the story though, as Leontes' red mist comes back to haunt him and all those he once held close to his heart.

For Shakespeare lovers or those simply looking for a good night's entertainment, this play has it all, as will guests at the 41 hotel who choose the 41 Sparkle package.

This deal provides guests with an open invitation to the chef's pantry, where all manner of treats and goodies are waiting to be discovered.
