Dido and Aeneas/Acis and Galatea at the Royal Opera House

Event: Dido and Aeneas/Acis and Galatea
Date: March 31st until April 21st

Theatre fans are in for a treat next month as Wayne McGregor, the resident choreographer of The Royal Ballet, presents new interpretations of two great British opera works.

Mr McGregor has taken Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Handel's Acis and Galatea and added his individual approach to the fusion of music and movement in each, making for a magical evening at the Royal Opera House.

In Dido and Aeneas, the supernatural and personal tragedy is contrasted musically and dramatically, with the cunning witches hell-bent on destruction balanced out with the warm heart of Dido, Queen of Carthage.

Handel's Acis and Galatea sees eponymous loves threatened by the monster Polyphemus as the world turns dark, with its arias and choruses showing the opera's unique charm.

Those planning to attend are in for a night of splendour and magnificence.

However, the fun does not have to end there, with the luxury London hotel the 41 the perfect place to wind down the evening.

Lovers who book the As You Like It package can tailor their stay to suit their needs, allowing them to spend a magical night together with everything they want.
