Budding sculptors and some of the most creative young minds in the country enter Jerwood Sculpture Prize each year with the hope it will launch them onto the international stage and establish them as prominent figures in the art world.

However, only the very best make it through to the final shortlist, guaranteeing visitors see the creme-de-la-creme of the country's talent and breaking the hearts of many who do not reach the final.

Now in its fifth year, the event has become one of the most important in the field, with the quality of work from previous winners such as Judith Dean and Benedict Carpenter helping establish it as a major showcase of artistic ability.

The eight finalists for the 2008 award have now been chosen and such is the standard of their creations, the judges have awarded them commissions to make marquettes of their proposals.

Guests at the luxury London hotel the 41 will have the chance to see these models on display at the Jerwood Space gallery and catch a glimpse of stars of the future.

After perusing pieces such as Alex Frost's Rice Dream, which uses mosaic tiles to make a replica of a carton of rice and David Worthington's manually rotating marble structure Close Encounter, visitors can return to the 41 and enjoy the perks provided by the Suite Dreams package.

The deal includes a full English breakfast each day, a bottle of Joseph Perrier rose champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and much more.
