Event: Sean Snyder - Index
Date: February 12th until April 19th
War imagery is rarely pleasant but the importance of reporting what is happening out on the frontlines cannot be ignored.
US artist Sean Snyder is fascinated with how conflict is beamed to those far away from the battlefield and in his first solo exhibition in a British institution, he will present three video installations examining how the news is presented.
While war is unpleasant in all its forms, one place where peace and happiness are in abundance is the luxury London hotel the 41.
People planning to attend Sean Snyder's Index installations can book a suite at the establishment and take advantage of the perks offered by the Get More From Your Stay package.
These include a bottle of Veuve Cliquot and a posy of flowers, £50 worth of Harrods gift vouchers and a three-course table d'hote dinner for two, plus much more.
With accommodation taken care of, guests can head to the Institute of Contemporary Arts for Index.
The first video shown to visitors will be a Soviet film from 1965 that celebrates the work of a village museum in the Ukraine.
Following that, attendees will see a movie featuring footage recorded during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan while the third piece examines ideas of consumerism and capitalism in journalistic reporting of wars.
