Stand Alone at the Cello Factory

Event: Stand Alone
Date: January 19th until the 24th

Christmas is a time where mums and dads dedicate most of their efforts to their children, sometimes neglecting their own enjoyment in the process.

Those who are guilty of this can make it up to themselves by going away for a weekend and staying at the luxury London hotel the 41.

With time to themselves, couples can enjoy the pleasures provided by the Romantically package, which include a sumptuous room, a red rose and more.

Art fans can book their stay during January and take in the Stand Alone exhibition while in the capital.

Running at the Cello Factory, the showcase provides a platform for nine members of the London Group Sculptors to display their creative abilities in a spacious environment which allows their work to be seen and interpreted from different angles.

The theory is that, by providing plenty of space, sculpture enthusiasts will be able to appreciate in more detail what the artists themselves are trying to say through their creations.

As a result, visitors will be able to fully understand the power of installations such as Still Thinking of Enola Dnats, which touches on concepts of isolation, confusion and disenfranchisement.

Tony Carter, meanwhile, will present his take on the idea of contemplation and how it and objective fact are somehow reciprocal.

Another highlight will be the Candle/Light exhibition compiled by David Chalkley, which will take visitors on a journey through progress and technology, demonstrated by the simple use of candles and their replacement by the electric light bulb.
