See the work of Francis Bacon at the Tate

Event: Francis Bacon at the Tate
Date: September 11th 2008 to January 4th 2009

Art aficionados might wish to take the opportunity to visit the Tate to see the work of Francis Bacon in what is arguably one of the most fascinating and exciting exhibitions of 2008 and 2009.

Francis Bacon was born in Ireland in 1909 and died in April 1992 at the age of 83 and has been described by the Tate as one of the greatest artists - of the paint medium - of the last century.

"[We] will bring together the best and most important paintings from throughout his turbulent life," the Tate added.

Should one seek to define the artistic style of this great painter, it would be hard not to note the unusual representation of both people and animals - indeed, one work well worth examining for such qualities is entitled Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X.

Bacon's work might then be an ideal topic of conversation over dinner at the 41 luxury London hotel.
