Category: Music & Theatre Date: Wednesday, 17 April 2013 The Southbank Centre will be hosting a live performance by Beth Orton, one of the UK's most acclaimed singer-songwriters, on April 17th 2013. The Brit Award winner and double Mercury Prize nominee has sold millions of records around the world and is performing in London to promote her latest album Sugaring Season, which was released to general acclaim last year. Inspired by the time she spent living in rural Norfolk, the record is strongly influenced by Orton's late friend, collaborator and folk legend Bert Jansch, who helped to teach the performer new guitar techniques that have allowed her to explore a whole new sound. The show takes place at 19:30 BST, with tickets available now for between £15 and £25. Orton's gentle folk stylings could make this concert perfect for couple enjoying a Romantically package at The 41 Hotel. This luxury London hotel deal includes daily breakfasts and a red rose on arrival, plus a selection of optional perks such as Champagne, flowers, chocolates, strawberries, candles and caviar.
