Date: October 19th and 20th 2012

A visually spectacular dance show called Mortal Engine is coming to the Southbank Centre on October 19th and 20th 2012, courtesy of the acclaimed Australian dance company Chunky Move.

Billed as a dance-video-laser performance, Mortal Engine will treat luxury London hotel guests to a stunning show in which movement-responsive video projections create amazing visuals that seem to defy the laws of reality.

The event features specially composed music from Brian Frost, a former collaborator of Bjork and Brian Eno, and amazing technology that foregoes pre-rendered elements in favour of real-time effects that are shaped around the dancers themselves.

Mortal Engine has been praised by the Guardian as an "undeniably thrilling work", while the New York Times described the show as a "mesmerising" experience.

Dance lovers can see yet more amazing choreography by booking the Billy Elliot the Musical package at The 41 Hotel, which comes with two stalls tickets to see the critically acclaimed play about an aspiring young ballet dancer.

It also offers a pre-theatre dinner, a signed programme and a Billy Elliot-themed turndown, as well as various other perks.
