The Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall will be the venue for a special concert performance of Richard Wagner's The Flying Dutchman on December 15th 2012.

Performed by the internationally acclaimed Zurich Opera Orchestra and Chorus, the show stars renowned bass-baritone Bryn Terfel in the lead role of the titular Dutchman.

Based on the famous maritime myth of the legendary lost ship, Wagner's powerful story is one of redemption through love, high drama and adventure at sea.

Terfel will sing alongside Anja Kampe and Matti Salminen in key roles, having recently won plaudits for his performance in the same work at the Zurich Opera House.

The 41 Hotel offers a range of luxury London hotel packages that could appeal to those wishing to attend, including the Romantically deal, which is ideal for couples.

It provides a red rose on arrival and one of a selection of optional extras, including Champagne, flowers, chocolates, strawberries, candles and caviar.
